Civil War Era Stag Handle Sword No Scabbard Mrctqes101 store. Here for your consideration is a vinatge sword that i aquired from an estate sale this past summer. You are bidding on the sword only, no scabbard. I do not know the country of origin or who hte maker was. It was bought along with a collection of civil war and agr items.
I will describe is as bset as i can. The blade has a rounded top edge, it is 28ins as is, part of the tip has been damaged (see pics). The blade has some minor rust and minor pitting it.
The blade is 1 1/8ins wide just under hte guard. The hand guard seems to be made of brass, a magnet will not stick to it. The guard has a shield and flower and vine design, no damage. The end where the guard and sword go together has a slight bend. The handle looks like it is stag and has a minor chip near the top where is is connected to the guard, to minro to get a good picture of.
